Wilderness First Aid

WFA courses are best for people taking half or full-day trips, traveling with reliable cell phone coverage, and where outside assistance is available within a few hours.

This course is an introduction to wilderness expedition medicine. an introduction to wilderness expedition medicine, focusing on general concepts, basic anatomy, physiology/pathophysiology, assessment, & treatment. 

Many WFA graduates return to take a longer, more intensive course.

Includes CPR training

Meets American Camping Association and Scouts of America trip leader requirements

Certifications Included in WFA Courses

  • Wilderness Basic First Aid
  • Injectable Epinephrine
  • ± Adult and Child WCPR & AED

WMTC WFA certification is valid for a maximum of three (3) years. There is no grace period.  

To recertify your WFA, complete another WFA course.  Consider upgrading  to a Wilderness First Responder certification.
