Our Wilderness EMS for Advanced Provider™ course focuses on assessing and treating traumatic, environmental, and medical emergencies in a wilderness expedition or remote EMS environment. It is designed for urban AEMTs, paramedics, nurses, PA's, and physicians who wish to adapt their skills to a remote care environment as Search & Rescue team members, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, expedition medics, or trip leaders.
Participants must hold a current national registry certification or state license to receive certification .
Certification:
- Wilderness EMS Advanced Provider (WEMS-AP)™
Hybrid Wilderness EMS for Advanced Provider™:
- Online Module: 30+ hours
- In-person Session: 5 days (50 hours)
WMTC's WEMS-AP ™ certifications are valid for a maximum of three years and only with current NREMT certification or state license; there is no grace period. To recertify, you must complete a WEMS Recert course before your certification expires.
