Designed as an introduction to wilderness expedition medicine, focusing on general concepts and basic treatment skills. Many WFA graduates return to take a longer, more intensive course. The certification also meets American Camping Association and Scouts of America trip leader requirements.

Best for urban EMRs or EMTs who wish to adapt their skills to a remote care environment as Search & Rescue team members, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, rural or remote EMS, expedition medics, or trip leaders.
This course is designed for licensed EMRs & EMTs and focuses on assessing and treating traumatic, environmental, and medical emergencies in a wilderness expedition or remote EMS environment.
Resulting 3-year Certifications:
- Wilderness EMR or Wilderness EMT
- Injectable Epinephrine
- Adult & Child WCPR + AED
Designed for urban AEMTs, paramedics, and registered nurses. Participants must hold a current national registry certification or state license to receive certification as a WAEMT, WPM, or WRN.
